Here are a series of titles that featured artists using prints to narrate a story.  The prints themselves are the narrative structure and differ from our Famous Illustrators series which showcase artists in a variety of their different styles.

Hans Holbein's
Dance of Death

This is the version illustrated by Hans Holbein and in the classic rendition
that most are familiar with. In addition to Holbein's art and the translated
stanzas, background information is provided by Eric Jackson on the

COMPANIONS OF ULYSSES
Some of the classic fables of Jean De La Fontaine (based on Aesop's) as illustrated by Gustave Doré. In addition to the tales are Doré's illustrations including some full page.  

 

DISASTERS OF WAR
Probably the most famous print series from Francisco Goya. It stands as a testament against war and Goya was one of the first to show the effects of war and not just the glorification.  

 

TOTENTANZ
Alfred Kubin's version of the "Dance of Death" also known as the  "Danse Macabre". Kubin provides his version that deals with skeletons representing death and coming to claim their victims.
