    We'll try to keep you up to date on the news regarding the DEADWORLD movie as it develops.  As you probably know, the Hollywood process is very slow and most of the proposed films never get off the ground.  So, keep that in mind as you read these updates.  It could all fall through the cracks at any given moment.  But of course, we all know that Deadworld would make a GREAT movie...let's hope they all see that as well!

THE DETAILS!

    The film haD been signed by George Clooney's Maysville Pictures which is spearheaded by Robert Lawrence whose previous credits include--

      Die Hard: With a Vengeance
      Clueless
      Rapid Fire
      A Kiss Before Dying
      and others.

The film was scheduled to be distributed by Warner Bros.

The script was to be from Todd Alcott (of Antz fame).

Was to be directed by Mark Pavia whose most recent work was Stephen King's Night Flyer.

UPDATES!

DECEMBER 2004
The option has expired and it was NOT renewed (by the owner) as it seemed advantageous to pursue other avenues after all this time.  There will be a new Deadworld comic and a Deadworld novel.  Deadworld will NOT be "sold" just for the sake of selling it.  Too many people miss the point (and yes, we've gotten numerous requests to give up the property so another SHAUN OF THE DEAD can be made. ) Hollywood...so original.

NOVEMBER 1999
The final, final script is in.  Now, we wait....

AUGUST 1999
No real update but some rumors regarding the film.  Another company is interested in approaching Warners and buying the property.

JUNE 1999
Warner Brothers has extended its option on Deadworld and according to sources there, are currently evaluating the special effects and locations to determine the final budget.

MAY 1999
     It appears the final script is just about complete.  We'll give details on it as we hear!
