BANG

A creation from Gary Carlson which brought in a total self contained universe of heroes and with it, a conceived 50 year history. The "universe" started off with three eras debuting simultaneously so readers follows the realized history right from the beginning. Golden Age characters were seen and their older counterparts are seen in the Silver Age incarnations as well as modern day. Some characters only exist in a single era whereas others transverse all three eras.
Carlson has continued the series at Image and sustained an lengthy run. He also was writer and co-creator of Images Vanguard title and was former publisher of Megaton Comics.
Big Bang
Five issues were released (1-4, and 0). Characters within the series included Ultiman, Knight Watchman, the Blitz, Human Sub, the Beacon, Thunder Girl, Dr. Weird, and many others. Each issue covered the different time periods and featured a variety of different artists. Guests were brought in for covers as well such as Shelly Moldoff of Green Lantern fame, Curt Swan, and Murphy Anderson.
There was also a Junior Knights of the Round Table and these included such characters as Moray, Kid Galahad, and Cyclone.
Dr. Weird
One of the mainstay characters of the Big Bang universe, Dr. Weird was the spiritual vengeance seeking entity. Follow the exploits of Dr. Simon Ward, a time traveler from the future who ventures into the 1940s. However, once setting foot outside of his machine, he was murdered. His spirit has been denied access to eternal rest because his soul had not been born!
Dr. Weird Special collects the stories from Star-Studded Comics and features some stories written by popular science fiction author, George R.R. Martin. The artist of these stories is none other than Jim Starlin! The regular series of Dr. Weird ran two issues from Caliber and were written by Ed DeGeorge and illustrated by David Zimmerman.
Knight Watchman: Graveyard Shift
Knight Watchman is one of the primary characters of the Big Bang Universe and this series premiered some of the adventures of the more "street smart" hero of the group. Written by Gary Carlson and Chris Ecker, the artwork was from Ben Torres.
Midway City has long been known as the most dangerous city in America and it just got worse. When as assassination attempt leaves the Mayor in critical condition, super hero Galahad, in the hospital with a shatter leg, and the crooked acting Mayor in charge, theres no one to stop the crime wave thats sweeping the city. Except for one man, Galahads mentor, the legendary Knight Watchman whos been retired for years. Two issues of this series were released.
Berzerker
Berzerker first appeared in Megaton comics from creator Gary Carlson and is the saga of the ultimate cyborg killing machine. Chronoaut Alexander Kirk became Americans first time traveler in the 1990s and he was dropped into the nightmarish future world where sentient machines had enslave mankind. His execution brought his corpse to the body banks where he was re-created as the destructive Bezerker! Will he save mankind, or destroy it?
The first issue features a gallery of art from megaton alumni such as Eric Larsen and Rob Liefeld in addition to Angel Medina who also does the initial story in the first issue. A Knight Watchman backup is also in the first issue. Berzerker was published outside of the Big Bang Universe but was incorporated into it as sort of a "future" of the Big Bang world.
