DAEMONSTORM

DaemonStorm.GIF (14820 bytes)A million galaxies away, a millennia ago, the Numenians traveled to the very core of their system. What they found was an enormous colorless orb the blackest black and ten-thousand stars in diameter. Its energy measurements read beyond the scale of comprehension. Two hundred years of experimentation led them to the utilization of this energy they dubbed Ebonous. It ran their machines, it powered their homes, it became their every source of energy.

Then...it matured.

Then, it gained sentience.

And it was evil.

The Ebonous began to contort and initiated a process of massive consumption. It ate life. It twisted and roiled, it gave off side-effects: cataclysmic storms, quakes, gravitational surges...and Daemons. The hybrid "children of the Storm", these ravenous beasts preyed on the Numenians in great numbers. The Stormwalkers were founded in order to combat the Daemons and to protect the inhabitants form the ravaging forces of Ebonous.

But it was not enough. Eventually came the Day of Obliteration. A day when the Ebonous gorged itself upon an entire world. Those who made it off-world, or who were already stationed elsewhere, were the only survivors of the species. They fled, but how far could they go? The Ebonous was growing. It transcended space, dimensions, perhaps even time. It was not bound by the limitations of physics or logic as understood by the Numenians.

The Ebonous grows. The tide of destruction known as Daemonstorm continues to reach further. And no one can stop it. It consumes entire worlds, perhaps entire galaxies, and it is coming this way.

This story arc concludes in Daemonstorm: Stormwalker. It runs through special editions of other Caliber series: Oz, Deadworld, LegendLore, and Kilroy. However, Caliber does not want any readers to have to commit to purchasing more issues than they want to! The story line is tailored so that these issues can be read as part of the ongoing thread, or can be enjoyed as simply self-contained stories.

Jack Pumpkinhead, noble, innocent and above all, good, is possessed through his latest gourd of a head. The Storm's evil nature and power, combined with Jack's plant abilities, make for a foe even Cassian, Kiri, the Lion, Jinjur, and Scraps cannot defeat. The Nome King has already been conquered, but is the land of Oz now to fall before the onslaught of the Daemonstorm! Featuring a beautiful cover illustrated by Kaos Moon artist David Boller! Written by OZ scribes Ralph Griffith and Stuart Kerr with art by Tim Holtrop and Ray Snyder.

Daemonstorm: LegendLore
Years ago the Daemonstorm ravaged the fantasy land of A'zoth, reshaping the land and its inhabitants, but questions still remain...where did the storm go? And is it gone for good? Apparently, the portal through which Daemonstorm traveled is not entirely closed as a monstrosity now plagues the realms. In this issue, a mysterious but familiar individual bent on revenge against forces that have victimized his life, journeys toward a fateful destination. Amid this, two outsiders come to A'zoth looking for a link to the ever powerful Daemonstorm. Based on the successful fantasy series by Caliber Comics of the same name. Daemonstorm: Kilroy
Deep within the bowels of New Orleans' famous French Quarter during Mardi Gras, a monstrous killer stalks the streets searching for his next victim. Kilroy, a being of immense power and mysterious origin, is drawn to the atrocities that plague humanity, thus his path leads him to intersect with this killer. Meanwhile, fresh from the pages of the Daemonstorm special, Cassian LaBounty and Kiri suddenly find themselves at Kilroy's side as they continue their maddening quest to stop the raging power of the Daemonstorm as it seeks to engulf Earth! Tarot cards, carnivorous daemons, gallant heroes, fortune tellers, mystical storms...what more could you ask for? Written by Joe Pruett (Dusty Star, Negative Burn) with artwork by Mike Perkins and cover art by the legendary Brian Bolland!

Daemonstorm:Stormwalker
Cassian and Kiri's interdimensional journey finally comes to an end as they arrive on the Numenian planet "Ebonous Prime". The planet literally sits in the eye of the Daemonstorm and has been existing in a time flux for nearly a century. Cassian finds the planet ruled by Abakis Kobalt, the man who was responsible for the destruction of his outpost and his stranding 15 years ago. Cassian's mysterious young friend Kiri, reveals herself to be the first and last born of the storm, but this is the least of Cassian's worries as he is confronted by resistance fighters. On Ebonous Prime, any act of violence is considered holy and outlawed. Even the resistance adheres to this creed and like the Stormworship Regime, they employ the use of machines to do all fighting. Cassian must convince the resistance he is an actual "Stormwalker" and then stop Abakis from his plans to unleash the Daemonstorm into new worlds. It's not a good day to be a hero. Daemonstorm: Stormwalker is written by series creator Joe Martin and illustrated by Marvel X-Men artist Craig Brasfield who is joined by guest artists assisting and features a striking cover by Ripclaw artist Jordan Raskin.
