Adapted by Steve Jones

A variety of different stories from H.P. Lovecraft adapted by Steven P. Jones.  Different artists were used on the series and with the exception of Dagon, each issue was a stand alone one shot.

BEYOND THE WALL OF SLEEP
Research subject, Joe Slaader is willing himself to die. Due to his value as research that taps beyond consciousness, Joe may not be able to fulfill his desires. But what is it that Joe has tapped into? Is it of this earth?

THE TOMB
A young man has such a fixation on an old decrepit tomb that he is locked into an insane asylum. There, he chronicles his story to his doctor in hopes that the others will believe that he is the reincarnated soul of a man who died and was buried in the tomb?

THE LURKING FEAR
In this classic representation, a reporter contacts a long lost friend regarding a series of grisly murders, hoping that the two of them can solve the mystery. But when ancient legends come into play, the duo realize they have little hope of uncovering the truth and, perhaps, not even surviving.

THE ALCHEMIST
A French Count recounts the legend of the alchemist, Charles Le Sorcier, who has placed a curse upon his family some centuries ago. Can he change his fate?

PICTURE IN THE HOUSE
When a woman's dinner date is interrupted by an assassination she becomes compelled by a portrait hanging in her house.

DAGON
The U. S. Navy recovers a woman who was ship-wrecked and who talks of a giant creature. The Navy discounts her story until they discover that the islands are not on any of the charts. The island turns out to be the home of the ancient god, Dagon, that threatens mankind's existence.

MUSIC OF ERICH ZAHN
A young man is compelled by the music of a mute violinist, music which pulls the young man into nightmares. What is his role in these horrific dreams?

ARTHUR JERMYN
Three generations of the Jermyn family have descended into the world of madness. Arthur seeks to discover the terrible affliction that has caused such degeneration in his family but can he live with the horrible secret that has plagued his family?

STATEMENT OF RANDOLPH CARTER
The police investigate a series of gruesome murders and Randolph Carter realizes that his victim is going to classified with the serial killers.  But the realization that he may be tabbed at the killer forces him to attempt to dig up the body.
