Welcome to 1926. Welcome to Boston. A cast of characters centered around private detective Ace Mifflin get involved in a variety of cases and situations. Professor Clifton Jennings, Professor of Archaeology at Harvard has the misfortune of occasionally working with Mifflin. But together and separately, along with other characters, they lead us to the path of the Jazz Age.
Written and illustrated by creator, Ted Slampyak, Jazz Age Chronicles is a delightful series full of humor, adventure, good stories, and great characters.
In issues one and two, the pressure mounts on Ace Mifflin, private eye as time runs out on both him and his friend. On the verge of finding the proof that he needs to clear his friend of a murder charge, he is knocked out and his evidence disappears. On the day of an election primary, can Mifflin re-assemble all of the pieces, and prove his allegations that the real murderer is running for District Attorney?
The third through fifth issues form another storyline, The Flowers of San Pedro, as Professor Jennings must travel to Arizona to find a missing friend, he finds himself "stuck" with Ace Mifflin. Together, they stumble across a special research project surrounding a special type of flower that some Indians believe grants magical like powers. Can Ace and Jennings survive each other long enough to solve the mysteries developing?
Caliber also published a graphic novel collecting the first series from EF Graphics as well as a number 6 of this series but both are out of print.
