THE WRETCH

The Wretch by Phil HesterSomewhere in the dark heart of America is Glass City, strangeness capital of the world. Here you’ll find bigfoot, satanic cults, killer clowns, UFO drive bys, flesh-eating viruses and hook handed serial killers. This is where urban legends are born and childhood nightmares live. The citizens of this twisted little town assure in the knowledge that no matter how weird the threats facing them may be, their local hero is weirder...much, much weirder. He is the Wretch.

Wretch creator Philip Hester, late of Vertigo’s Swamp Thing, The Crow, and many other titles including Species, brings his unique, totally unpredictable story telling techniques to this series. It was his first series that he both wrote and drew and the result is a fun, captivating romp through the world of the paranormal and the totally bizarre.

First appearing in Negative Burn (then known as The Creep), The Wretch demanded to have his own series and Caliber was happy to oblige. Philip Hester unleashed his bizarre imagination in tales that range from the haunting to the hilarious to the action packed. Phil was joined by co-horts, Ande Parks and Bruce McCorkindale.
